An affiliate program for your Shopify store.

A sale is credited to an affiliate in two ways: their discount code is on the order, or the customer reached your store through their referral link. Sprout Affiliate remembers the link all the way to checkout, so the affiliate is credited even if the code never gets used.

Orders that look wrong wait for your review instead of paying commission: an affiliate buying through their own link (matched on their name or IP address), orders Shopify's fraud analysis rates medium or high risk, and orders with an open chargeback. A lost chargeback takes the commission back, from the next payout if it was already paid. You can also review each new affiliate's first orders, hold orders past a daily limit per affiliate, and make orders wait a set number of days before they approve automatically. They apply through your signup page, and once approved they get their own referral link and discount code to share. No Shopify account and no technical setup on their side.

Three ways. Share your signup link anywhere your customers already are. List your store in the Sprout Affiliate marketplace (Growth plan), where affiliates across the network browse brands and apply. And invite affiliates from the Sprout Affiliate network directly, on any plan.

You approve each referred order, or let Sprout Affiliate approve them for you. Approved commissions wait in the payable queue until you send a payout, weekly, monthly, or whenever you like, and PayPal affiliates are paid in one batch. Venmo, bank transfer, and check are tracked so you can pay those affiliates your way and mark each payout paid.

Yes. They suggest a code when they sign up, and you can approve it as-is or edit it before it goes live. Leave the code blank and Sprout Affiliate generates one for you.

Nothing to start: the free plan runs one program, with payouts tracked for you to pay by hand. Growth is a $9.99 monthly base plus 2% of the referral sales your affiliates generate (only sales that clear refunds count), and adds unlimited programs, automatic PayPal payouts, and automatic order approval. Professional is $49.99 + 1.5%. It lifts commission tiers from three levels to unlimited, and adds AI assistant integration (MCP), custom affiliate links, your own domain, affiliate bonuses, affiliate email from your own address, and custom CSS on the affiliate portal. Enterprise is $119.99 + 1%. Professional and Enterprise can be paid yearly instead, $499.90 and $1,199.90, which is twelve months for the price of ten. Every paid plan starts with a 14-day free trial, there are no setup fees, and you can cancel anytime from your Shopify admin. On every paid plan, no percentage is charged until your approved referral sales in a billing cycle pass that plan’s monthly base. After that the percentage applies to every dollar past it.

Not if you place it as a Shopify test order. In your Shopify admin, go to Settings, then Payments, and turn on test mode for Shopify Payments, or activate Shopify’s Test payment gateway if your store uses another provider (Shopify’s steps). Then buy through an affiliate’s link or with an affiliate’s discount code. Sprout Affiliate tracks a test order like any other and holds it with the reason “Test order”. You can approve it and mark it as paid to see every step, and it never has a performance fee. Turn test mode off when you finish: customers cannot pay by card while it is on.

An order paid for with real money counts as a sale once you approve it. Orders placed during your 14-day free trial have no performance fee, and neither do orders on the Free plan. If a practice order is charged, reject it or cancel it in Shopify and the fee is credited back.
